Sam Howard enjoyed working for two years in the economics team at DairyNZ after studying at Massey University. After two years he found his desire to be a farmer was too strong to resist and decided to pursue his dream.

Sam changed direction four years ago and spent a short time milking cows in Australia, learning how things are done over there.

After returning to New Zealand, he took on managing and lower order sharemilking in Taranaki. Now he is 50:50 sharemilking in Manawatu with partner Ellie. Their goals include a strong focus on improving their 230-cow crossbred herd.
