Vanessa Robinson

Animal, Feed and Farm System Specialist, DairyNZ

Although brought up in the city, Sally’s agri-science career is all about helping farmers in the country.

Sally’s pathway illustrates it is possible to have a successful career in the dairy sector after coming from a city upbringing.

Not only is Sally’s career very different from her city upbringing, but after studying an agri-business degree her current role is different from her degree; it’s in agri-science.

After going on to complete a master’s degree, Sally joined DairyNZ as a developer.

“In my role as a Developer at DairyNZ, I work with  farmers, vets, rural consultants and DairyNZ extension and science personnel to develop tools and resources and run programmes for our dairy farmers. It’s a farm systems approach embracing animal performance and pasture management. It provides me with variety in my daily work.”
