Charlotte Irving

Agriculture and Resources Economist

Charlotte Irving’s role is diverse and flexible; within one day she could be estimating a farm’s nutrient and greenhouse gas emissions; doing a financial analysis for irrigation development; or preparing evidence for regional council hearings.

The AgriBusiness Group was not advertising a job, however, “I took the time to establish a connection with them and soon got my first professional job.”

Charlotte’s career focuses on agriculture and resource economics.

“I love supporting clients to improve their farm systems to achieve a balance between profitability and environmental sustainability, and to meet environmental policies while supporting the long-term future of New Zealand’s agricultural economy. “

Charlotte’s work supports the dairy sector’s overarching commitment to lowering its environmental impact.

“The dairy industry is a dynamic, innovative and exciting industry to be involved with.

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Life’s too short to be stuck in a job you don’t like!”
