Gaining skills for future dairy sector career

“I was offered the opportunity to join the OB Group Farms Graduate Program in 2018. I committed to four months (January- June) on an OB Group farm and will leave to manage a 450-cow dairy farm in the 2018/19 season.”

“For me, it is a unique opportunity to develop skills”

Matthew Moffit is taking part in the OB Group Graduate Programme that offers personal development through working with the organisation through Coach Approach Rural.

“For me, it is a unique opportunity to develop management and leadership skills that will benefit my future career in the dairy sector. Working with the on-farm teams at OB Group is a great chance to learn from some of the good farm managers in the sector.”

The graduate program is tailored to the individual to help them develop skills in areas of their choice.

“The benefit is it enables me to better understand how, personally, I can capitalise on my strengths and satisfy my values while working towards achieving my career goals.”

OB Group is a developing farming corporate business in the Rangitikei district with a key emphasis on people, innovation and agriculture. The focus is to bring in good, productive people and get them where they want to be.

Matthew is a DairyNZ scholarship recipient and Massey University Bachelor of AgriScience undergraduate.
