A dairy farming career will also impact on your family.
Without their support it is very difficult to take on any new job. It will almost certainly mean moving to a new location and different home. If you have children they may need to settle into a new school and get used to the different lifestyle that farming offers. Make sure your family is fully informed and involved in the decision-making process.
Things to consider:
- Location of the job, so that it is close to schools etc;
- The impact moving to a more remote area might have on your family’s social life;
- If your wife or partner works, consider the impact this will have on their career and lifestyle.
